This #YouthMonth, we celebrate the Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme’s remarkable impact, creating over 37 000 jobs in financial year 2024 and 146 923 since inception, injecting R8.1 billion into the economy. Launching the Return on Employment (ROE) SDG framework, YES maximises social impact, benefiting families and communities, with 53% of YES Youth from grant-recipient households.

With more than half of South Africa’s youth unemployed (ages 15-34), the need for job creation is more critical than ever. We are excited to continue collaborating with YES to create more impactful opportunities in the coming financial year.

At iX, we are proud to be a part of this transformative initiative. We currently employ several YES programme youths who bring energy, innovation, and dedication to our team. Furthermore, we have proudly absorbed 3 out of 4 YES youths from our first programme into permanent roles within the business. Their contributions underscore the importance of such programmes in fostering the next generation of leaders and professionals.
